David J. Rompala, Au.D., Executive Director

As Excective Director since 1983, Dave Rompala has overseen 27 years of growth at The Speech and Hearing Center (TSHC). Compared to today’s operation — three clinics, close to 40 staff — when Dr. Rompala started at the TSHC in 1979 as a full-time audiologist, he comprised one quarter of the personnel. His wife, Janice, is an elementary school teacher, and his daughter, Megan, works with handicapped students. In honor of his deceased daughter, Nicole Ann, the Rompala family supports the Nicole Ann Rompala Scholarship, which is offered annually to a graduate student in speech-language pathology or audiology. In his spare time, Dr. Rompala loves to play 12” softball, ride his motorcycle, and teach Bible studies. Dr. Rompala is a graduate of Western Illinois University (B.A.), Baylor University (M.A.), and the Arizona School of Health Sciences (Au.D.).
